This marks the first PLB rescue in the Grand Canyon. Recovering at the Flagstaff Medical Center, the hiker, Jason, is being treated for severe dehydration and the onset of renal failure. First Land Rescue with a Rented PLB(4/12/2006) April 12, 2006 - The first rescue in the United States using a rented PLB (from PLB Rentals, LLC) helped to quickly locate 4 hikers in the Olympic National Forest. This was also the first rescue with the ACR TerraFix PLB.

This statement applies to user interactions with the PLB Rentals, LLC web site.

Genera l
The PLB Rentals, LLC web site makes some use of data that directly or indirectly identifies users. We take great care with practices that affect personal privacy. Data Collection
Data that in some way identifies the user is gathered during interactions with the PLB web site in the following circumstances:

Computer Information
It is a necessary part of visiting any web site, including the PLB Rentals, LLC web site, that the user's web browser provides the machine's identity (its IP-address) to the web server, so that the server can address the reply to the correct machine. In addition, the browser-type and operating system are provided.

Browsing any web site, including the PLB Rentals, LLC site, generates a trail of the pages that are visited, and the time apparently spent displaying each page.

Data Storage, Use and Disclosure, and Retention
All personal data described in the preceding sections is stored in transmission logs, and archived for a period that is yet to be determined but is likely to be at least 12 months and quite probably 7 years. The data is used by PLB Rentals, LLC site software, and by staff involved in the PLB Rental, LLC operation, only for:

Web site and system administration, including monitoring to prevent security breaches;
customization of the web site to the user's needs; and
evaluation, research and development.

Identified data can only be re-disclosed to the user if the user provides the unique request session number. Identified data may be disclosed to a third party only in circumstances in which it is legally authorized, such as in the investigation of a criminal offence, and in compliance with a search warrant or subpoena.

All information provided will be treated in confidence by staff who operate the PLB Rentals, LLC site.
